T1 vs. DSL

It’s our experience that the majority of our customers would benefit by choosing a T1 over Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) service. Some points to consider:

Price - We have recently seen T1 prices drop into the low $200 range which is marginally more than DSL.

Flexibility - Multiple T1’s can be bonded together to provide additional bandwidth as your organization or business grows.

Performance - The T1 has dedicated performance where DSL performance suffers with many users.

Reliability - The T1 is backed up by a Service Level Agreement (SLA) where as DSL service is only "Best Effort"

Distance - T1 has no distance limitations where as DSL has distance limitations.

Slower Uploads - T1 is symmetrical meaning both upload and download speeds are the same. (1.5 MB) DSL is asymmetrical meaning that the upload speed is slower than the download speed.

In summary - With a T1 you’ll typically have a 4 hour Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) where DSL is a "Best Effort" service. So with DSL you are going to pay whether your service works or not, but for as little as $5 per day you can have the guaranteed reliability of a T1.

Benefits of the Integrated Dynamic T1

Years ago organizations faced the expense of needing to purchase multiple T1 circuits. One for the voice network and another for the data network. This was an expensive proposition, but it was simply the accepted way of doing business.

The Integrated Dynamic T1 shares both Voice and Data across a single T1 circuit. Additionally, you can determine the priority for your voice and data access. This means that when you are not making calls the available bandwidth is "dynamically" allocated to accessing the Internet, giving your organization the best of both worlds.

And best of all it can save you money!!
